Casualties of war...
Four very good friends were also let go locally.
I wish them all the best...
Day 15 The shit is hitting the fan...
Too many firsts for one week.
So, last night went unbelievably well. She was so nervous and so beautiful at the same time. She wants to see me again. That's all I'm going to say about that.
Dinner with Eve was postponed for this evening. Good thing because I have no underwear clean. So, tonight will be laundry night ala commando... She is setting me up with her contacts and I will go forward formally with them. Tis a good job they have available, maybe I can finally buy that boat that I have been wishing for.
Ok, no more for today...I didn't sleep very well.

Day 14 Progress Check
My blue Fender Stratocaster has been stolen. Happened over the weekend. Don't have very much to say about it. Just know this, I will go Samuel L. Jackson (in Pulp Fiction) on the person who stole it if I ever find out who it is...
It won't go away...
Today I feel really used. I have been trying to keep a positive outlook on things. Today is different, animosity is beginning to set into my very core. I will try to fight it, because I have truly chosen to believe that forgiveness and love are the best course of action. But today is different...
So, to get it out of my system - I will say:
"Fuck you, you don't deserve my friendship or my love, you are cruel, overly critical and spiteful, and my hope is that there is a day you truly need a close friend and no one will answer - because you have chosen to hate instead of forgive."
How sad to hold such contempt inside of you...enough so you have even poisoned me.
911
Deep breath and...exhale.
So, I have a date tonight with a very cute young woman from up north. We have been talking for awhile now on the phone and I am really looking forward to meeting her. I love her voice. She is coming into the Plaza, which I thought was very bold. Supposed to be a chilly night, but you know me - I will be wearing shorts, sandals and a positive outlook.
Tomorrow I am having dinner with Eve and some of her work associates. They are both in the "training" field, and obviously the dinner will become more of an interview after a few drinks and formalities. I hope to be able to change employers and still remain in KC. I am not sure if that will happen, but I am crossing everything on my body that is crossable. Nick is still very excited about the move to Platte City and I want so much to stick to at least one plan in my life.
Ok, I'm outta here.
It's 9-11, be thankful for the people in your life that love you.

Day 13.2 Full frontal study...
Remember...
Day 13 What a lucky day!
Made me see where I've been
Been down one time
Been down two times
I'm never going back again
You dont know what it means to win
Come down and see me again
Been down one time
Been down two times
I'm never going back again
More later...

Day 12.2 I'll take a Mojito and a Sam Adams...
- Yes, the second date was amazing...now stop asking!
- Networking is good, I may have landed a really great job!
- The realtors said $225,000 for our house was a great asking price!
- I busted another crack in my ass today...BUT, my yard looks like Eden.
Millie
Long sad story with a semi happy ending. I will tell the tale in dotpoints:
- Friend of my ex has dog she needs to part with
- Ex sees dog
- Ex WANTS dog
- Ex gets my son and goes to get dog
- Dog stays one night
- Scott sees dog
- Scott wants dog gone
- Ex gets son and takes dog back
Ok, I know you are all going, WHAT? What an a-hole!!! I am not a meanie...I'm just sayin', all a matter of time before everyone goes their separate ways. Ex will want freedom, Son will also want the same...but Scott always ends up being the Grimmy Grimmington. However for some reason I earned a chip from the heavens and both Ex and Son agreed with me. I must have done something right.
Bad thing...she was such a good dog...and I already miss her. Millie...girl.
I am so tired, I am definitely going to sleep tonight.
"No we're set, I'll take the check..." Buenos Tardes.
Day 12 Oh yes, I remember now...
I’m thankful for every breath I take
I won’t take it for granted
So I learn from my mistakes
It’s beyond my control, sometimes it’s best to let go
Whatever happens in this lifetime
So I trust in love
You have given me peace of mind
I feel so alive for the very first time
I can’t deny you
I feel so alive
I feel so alive for the very first time
And I think I can fly
Sunshine upon my face
A new song for me to sing
Tell the world how I feel inside
Even though it might cost me everything
Now that I know this, so beyond, I can’t hold this
I can never turn my back away
Now that I’ve seen you
I can never look away

Day 11 Let's only talk about the good stuff...
My son is a good young man!!!
Too nice a day to be blogging just for the sake of blogging.
But I will tell you some good things and bad things:
- I love my son
- Warriors won last night 22-0, Nick had a great interception
- I love my daughters
- I met someone unbelievably wonderful
- My project came in on deadline (I am a training stud...oh yes!)
- The coffee I am drinking at this moment ROCKS!
- I am happy
Bad things:
- Today will be a big day for decisions (maybe that should be a good thing)
- I know that there is at least one person in the world that hates me
- Not knowing whether or not my company will be around by end of '07
- Facing my friend today
- I am sad
3 Bear Bomb Score!
Ok, so as far as the band goes, whoa... Have had amazing practices lately. Everyone keeps asking me "When are you guys playing out?" Soon, very soon. The October gig looks like a lock. Acoustic show, and we are ready for that. The website is next...and this blog will be attached. By then I (Scott Syer) will have a blog of my own to waste away the hours setting in stone my testimonial. That sentence was either very Yoda, or extremely poor syntax.
So, enjoy your day...love the people that love you back, and also love (especially) the people who don't. Know that your actions do define you...so be careful. And, every other motivational statement ever made...
Oh, one more.
Go, fight, win!
I think today I will go to the Westport Art Fair. I need it.
Uh huh.

Day 10 Coup d'état and Coup de grâce or...
So what does this all mean to me. I know it to be true that according to Maslow the happiest people attain all levels of his hierarchy. I know I have given up level 1 and 2 in trade for 3 and 4, which of course has kept me from achieving level 5 completely.
So bingo! That is what my problem has and will always be folks unless I get with the program TODAY! I give up my basic needs for all the needs of level 3 and 4... I have been doing it ALL my life. So, I understand now that when I flip out about change, or losing a person in my life...or more, it's because I have been confusing levels 3 and 4 with 1 and 2. No foundation, house falls down...make sense?
Too early for this shit...

Day 10 was and still is my goal day...
But I leave you with a joke:
A woman's husband had been slipping in and out of a coma for several months, yet she stayed by his bedside every single day. When he came to, he motioned for her to come nearer.
As she sat by him, he said, "You know what? You have been with me all through the bad times. When I got fired, you were there to support me. When my business failed, you were there. When I got shot, you were by my side. When we lost the house, you gave me support. When my health started failing, you were still by my side... You know what?"
"What dear?" She asked gently.
"I think you bring me bad luck."
Aha! See you all on Day 10!
Night 9 An imperfect ending...

Time, flowing like a river
Time, beckoning me
Who knows when we shall meet again
If ever
But time
Keeps flowing like a river
To the sea
Goodbye my love, Maybe for forever
Goodbye my love, The tide waits for me
Who knows when we shall meet again
If ever
But time
Keeps flowing like a river (on and on)
To the sea, to the sea
Till it's gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forevermore
Goodbye my friends, Maybe forever
Goodbye my friends, The stars wait for me
Who knows where we shall meet again
If ever
But time
Keeps flowing like a river (on and on)
To the sea, to the sea
Till it's gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forevermore
Peace and happiness my love, goodbye...
Day 9 Untitled
20 foot high above the rest of the world.
Every night is better than the previous lately...tonight I tour where I'll be taking my classes. My dinner: I had some kickass hummus last night and warm pita. I love that. Tried something new as well. They were stuffed wontons. The stuffing was a cream cheese corned beef mix. Deep fried and dipped in a hot, spicy and very sweet honey mustard. Delicious!
I have been working out like an athlete lately - a 45 year old athlete. I feel great and am thinner than I have been since Fall '05. Lots of energy and I am sleeping well.
Ok, hopefully that sufficiently bored you so that I won't have to continue to write anymore.
Made me smile.
I have to believe my biggest problem in life is that I truly love people. I love them so much that I sometimes don't have enough love to go around.
This morning I saw a mother and her three children walking up Main Street. By the look of their dress I knew she was walking them to a private school. I took a left and happened to park on a side street parallel to Main. As I flipped the tranny into Park, I noticed they were walking towards me. I got out of the truck, grabbed my laptop and began to walk directly towards them. As I approached the two smallest children (probably 6 years old) they each looked up and smiled at me. I immediately smiled back. As I continued to walk I glanced back to see the little girl still looking at me. She smiled again.
Now if you happen to believe in gifts from above...I think I would say that her smile qualifies.
Ok...good start to a day.

I scare myself sometimes.
...you truly have to be "in like" SO MUCH first!!! Then the "in love" lasts...
Day 8 Revelation
I am going back to school...but more about that another time. I have to see if I can pay for it first. So, if you see an attractive bald man standing at an intersection with a sign that says, "Will work for school!"... at least honk and give a thumbs up at very least.
Lessons of the day
By the way this will be the last post for awhile...take these lessons to heart.
1. Remember in any given year, you will do more good than bad. Yes, you will make mistakes - but in the end, hold yourself accountable and move towards a more positive path everyday. Let the good be the motivator in your life. The universe is not out to get you, or reward you... Be honest, be sincere and always tell the truth. I know this to be true, and it's something I have had to learn the hard way.
2. My best friend told me something yesterday that I may have already known, but it was a cloud blaster at that moment. You get better everyday, yes I know, and yes we do change... But, when it comes to relationships, it is absolutely imperative that you love and accept who your partner is completely. All of their strengths, weaknesses, loves, hobbies, and all else that defines that person. I have to believe one very big reason why relationships fail is because, well...we try to change a person once we have them. They are who they are. Love them or let them go. Love and support them for who they have become over their life. It's either a puzzle piece fit or not. So - honestly think about your relationship right now...do you accept the person you are with and all they are...or have you caught yourself saying things like: If he'd only change his style, or - I wish she was a better housekeeper, or - I wish he was more intelligent instead of emotional. Guess what folks, you probably knew all of this before you were a "committed" thing. Why is it a problem now? So, final advice, if they don't have all of your check marks from the beginning, and you think that you can change them later...it will be a hard ride for the both of you. Don't settle kids...and don't let them just settle for you.
So, sometimes the most perfect match is not always about commonality. Sometimes it's about imperfection and acceptance, differences and forgiveness.
10 toes, hit floor, run and smile!

Ok fine...
3 Bear Bomb Scary
The band has been offered a Halloween acoustic gig. I was able to set it up this weekend. As soon as all the details are ironed out I will post for all of our loyal fan. That was a joke...fan, get it? It will for sure be the 27th of Octubre. Acoustic you say? Honestly, the band has always enjoyed playing unchained.
Ok, I believe that is a happy thing.
One more time...
I miss you, I am happy for you...I am so sorry...I really thought at that point we could get through it.
Lost track of the days...
Life is good
Happy for me
Happy for her
Sad at the loss of my friend
Happy for her
Happy for him
My emotions are all over the place, mad then sad, then bewildered, then understanding. Either way folks, life goes on. Fix the things you need to fix and celebrate the things you do well. True forgiveness is about both accepting responsibility... We all do so many wonderful things, why is it human nature to always point out the faults? Because it's easier.

Day 6 I really love my own bed...
A classic example of a hypocritical act is to denounce another for carrying out some action whilst carrying out the same action oneself...
"Before you accuse me, take a look at yourself..."
Sleepless in...
So, today I am tired. Great day yesterday. But, now I am paying the price. Today I will be exiled to the PC. Chained to it until bedtime. My fault, I decided to enjoy myself instead of work all weekend.
Tomorrow back to work and also back to a raging river... Things have been very stressful with all that my company is going through. Stress that I refuse to take into my bloodstream. In recent history I would have been an absolute mess right now. I won't do it anymore. I have learned that it is so fucking true, "You are only as good as you are that moment." And, if history doesn't prove that...well, believe me it does.
So, today I will be as good as I can be today. And, hope that tomorrow will I will be even better.

Day 5.2 "Forever"
I realized what is wrong with me
Can't get over you.
Can't get through to you
It's been a helter-skelter romance from the start
Take these memories, that are haunting me
Of a paper man cut into shreds
By his own pair of scissors
He'll never forgive her...he'll never forgive her...
Because days come and go but my feelings for you are forever
Because days come and go but my feelings for you are forever
Sitting by a fire on a lonely night
Hanging over from another good time
With another girl... little dirty girl
You should listen to this story of a life
You're my heroine - in this moment I'm lonely, fulfilling my darkest dreams
All these drugs all these women
I'm never forgiven... this broken heart of mine
Because days come and go but my feelings for you are forever,
Because days come and go but my feelings for you are forever
One last kiss,
Before I go
Dry your tears,
It is time to let you go
One last kiss (one last kiss)
Before I go (before I go)
Dry your tears (dry your tears)
It is Time to let you go
Because days come and go, but my feelings for you are forever
Because days come and go, but my feelings for you are forever
One last kiss (one last kiss)
Before I go (before I go)
Dry your tears (dry your tears)
It is time to let you go
One last kiss,
Before I go,
Dry your tears,
it is time to let you go,
One last kiss...
Day 5 New mindset...
Some things that are good about my life right now:
- New relationships
- Old relationships
- Knowing my kids again
- Being healthy (both mind and body)
- Knowing I am a good person
- Knowing it's ok not to look back
- Knowing my heart is big enough to withstand being hated
- The weather
- How I will feel when this day is over
- How I will feel tomorrow morning
Day 4.2 I really don't think I can take anymore...
Read!
Drivers on Cell Phones Are as Bad as Drunks
Utah Psychologists Warn Against Cell Phone Use While Driving
-- Three years after the preliminary results first were presented at a scientific meeting and drew wide attention, University of Utah psychologists have published a study showing that motorists who talk on handheld or hands-free cellular phones are as impaired as drunken drivers.
"We found that people are as impaired when they drive and talk on a cell phone as they are when they drive intoxicated at the legal blood-alcohol limit” of 0.08 percent, which is the minimum level that defines illegal drunken driving in most U.S. states, says study co-author Frank Drews, an assistant professor of psychology. “If legislators really want to address driver distraction, then they should consider outlawing cell phone use while driving.”
Psychology Professor David Strayer, the study's lead author, adds: “Just like you put yourself and other people at risk when you drive drunk, you put yourself and others at risk when you use a cell phone and drive. The level of impairment is very similar.”
A dyslexic guy walks into a bra...
I have to believe that any "...walks into a bar" joke will make me laugh. I like quick humor. Jokes that last forever drive me nuts. I like a quick hit and run...jokes that you can repeat to yourself 4 hours later and still snort in your cube enough so your neighbor can hear you.
Some good examples:
Charles Dickens walks into a bar and orders a martini. The bartender asks, "Olive or twist?"
An amnesiac comes into a bar. He asks, "Do I come here often?"
A pony walks into a bar and coughs, "Hey, COUGH. Gimme a bu COUGH a beer COUGH. The bartender serves him and says, "What's with your voice?" The pony says, "Nothing, I'm just a little hoarse."
Some jumper cables walk into a bar. The bartender says, "You can come in, but you better not start anything!"
A man walks into a bar with a slab of asphalt under his arm and says, "A beer please, and one for the road."
Speaking of that...see you on Day 5.

Day 4 Wake up little sushi...
Today is a much better day. I am heading down to Mill Creek for the walk that strangely enough has already turned into jogging.
I had a wonderful day yesterday, and it gave me hope that regardless of the past I still had a future. A very wise person told me something I needed to hear, and that is "We all make mistakes." I have made many...ok more than "many." But, she was right...and I know that is how we learn. Ok, enough about that. Sorry, one word of advice - Always be honest, no matter how hard it is. Ok, done.
So I had like THE BEST sushi last night. Small place in Olathe. People were awesome and I truly enjoyed myself. I have been eating so healthy lately and I feel good. I do have a little headache this morning, but I think that is because of stress at work and the emotional rollercoaster of this week's events. I am heading up north this afternoon and will do some biking. Tomorrow will be fun as the band and some friends will be joining me for a little music and mayhem. I for one am really looking forward to it. I am thinking stuffed pork tenderloin on the grill.
That's about it, ...oh one more thing.
I broke a vase when I was a kid, it was a gift my mother had received from her mother. I actually threw it at my sister, but that is another story. Anyway, come to find out my father had actually purchased the vase for my grandmother to give as a gift to my mom. When my dad heard the crash, he first yelled at me...then gathered up all of the pieces and told me to not say a word...he would replace the broken one with an identical one. Very sneaky... Now the reason it was so special, is that my grandma had just passed away. It was a big deal.
Fast forward. So, my Dad does his dirty work and all is well. What we didn't know is that my Grandma had written something special for my mom on the bottom of the broken vase. My Mom caught it a few weeks later. She was so upset. The new vase was nothing like the old, and was really only there to take the pain of no vase at all. That vase is in a cabinet now, it was the same vase - but not even close to the original.
So, divine words of wisdom... I believe it is natural for us to not want to have voids in our lives. I do also believe that replacing something quickly to fill a void or preempt any grief is not healthy. Especially for the other person, if the "void" is another person... Oh, yes in the beginning the person is just like the vase, looks and feels just like the original - but in the end, not so much. And, using my Mom as an example when she realized the original was truly gone...her grief was more painful.
If you don't understand what I am trying to convey...comments are always appreciated.
Late phone calls are scary...
"It was when I returned from JAX, when I was talking to Kathleen. We were apart. That was a really rough time for me...the job, you. Do you remember that time? I was dying inside and I made a mistake. I was ashamed to speak of it."
I will say that my memory of time is pretty bad. I was told that this week. I started a journal but abandon it. I need to start it again. I hope to only write good things from now on.
Ok, it's a sunny day...time to make it mine!

Lost a friend...
My wife is amazing. After all we have been through...she is still there.
Just know that the word "commitment" is one I am going to spend the rest of my life proving to someone. We all have bad times, frustration, anger - and more... But, it's commitment to something that can keep it alive.
It's a new day, and the sun is shining.

Day 2.3 I'm sorry...
Sometimes there is a transfer of guilt to pain. I have lost my best friend today. Part of this new life is about being clean, but unfortunately washing has left dirt all around me. I am a good person who has done many, many stupid things in my life. I have been a poor example as a friend. I have lied and have paid the ultimate price.
Now if this scares you from coming clean and telling someone something you have hidden...well it should. But being honest has to be the important thing. If you aren't honest up front, yes you stand the chance of losing in the end...but, you still need to do it.
I already miss her - and wish I could have been more like her.
Day 2.1 Welcome back to the playground...
Ok, no alcohol, thanks for reminding me...bastard!

Vin Diesel couldn't even help us...
It's always something...
In the Spring while we were practicing, this guy barged into our practice space and told us to turn it down. He was fairly sarcastic in his tone. Initially all of us wanted to tell him to stick it up his beeeeeehind, but because we are good people - we agreed to turn down,
Summer has come and almost went...
Guess who's back. That's right. The a-hole barged in last Friday night again. This time we agreed and locked the door to where we practice (we should have done that from the beginning because you really never know who might "barge in"). We continued until KCMO's finest were pounding on the door. Now, let me say that they were very cool. There is a 10 PM noise ordinance.
Well, low and behold he called again last night. All of us became so anxious that the practice was less than stellar. But, then a miracle happened... The volume change opened up the ears to really great moments and mistakes.
So, morale of the story...change is hard. But, if you are willing to change just a little, you may find that you open yourself to a whole new perspective.
You are probably thinking that I will somehow make this about my life now huh? Hmmm, I say F off, it's none of your business...

Star Kissed
When you FISH upon a star...
I believe in fate. I believe that stars do align from time to time, and we have a choice to accept or reject their appeal to us.
My first trip to Seattle was about 8 years ago. People that know me have heard me say that the feeling I had when I arrived there could only be described by a line in the Color Purple...
Netti had just arrived in Africa - and standing on the land of her ancestors for the first time, her body just vibrated.
Ok, so my ancestors weren't from Seattle, but I truly felt the same.
Fast forward to yesterday, started bad, got worse...then ended wonderfully.
The Power of the TUNA SANDWICH
I don't need to expound too much on what got me to the point of tears, but during this collapse - a moment of clarity. A tuna sandwich in front of me, lettuce and tomato and a sliced strawberry to squelch the sweet tooth. Now you may ask the importance of this sandwich. Well, it's because someone special had made it for me... Made out of love and compassion. I was stunned, it had been so long since I had received something like this. I had given it, but had not received it in so long. And, as usual - it rendered me an emotional wreck.
Here's the good part. It made me realize that I was on the right path. Relationships have to be equal. When they are not, one person tires out or just gives up. If you have someone make you a tuna sandwich...make them one too as soon as you can.
Ok, more good part and this is where fate comes in.
Seattle is home to the famous Pike Place fish market. Hence, fish equalled Seattle to me at that moment. I know this is long, but hear me out... I had just made a very big decision in a relationship days previous, I also was told that my company had until October 5th to have their shit together or begin splitting, I had just received a Monster for a great job in Seattle, I know that I have a place to live already in Wallingford (like 5 minutes from the city with my brother in law who wants me there because I am the only person in the world that will listen to him babble for hours on end), and then...
That movie Singles comes on...I know...WTF right?
So, Seattle must be calling. I love it there and it loves me back. Maybe I would even get the golden tuna sandwich I have been longing for...
So here is the f'd up piece of this puzzle. I go home and join Match.com for real (no more winking and running like a kid dropping a blazing bag of shit on the front stoop). Within an hour I am having a conversation with a wonderful woman. She is my age, ready for the next half of her life. She wants humor and music and passion and tuna, and will give tuna in return.
So, stars...aligning? Or, just twinkling dots in the sky? What would you do?
I'm thinking Seattle.

Yabba Dabba Do Wilma...

If you are as old as me you may remember watching the Flintstones. Cartoons back then were so much more benign. A child had to really use his or her imagination to identify any sexuality in most of the characters on Saturday morning. My faves of course were Veronica from Scooby Doo, Josie and/or any of the Pussycats...and especially Wilma Flintstone. You may have been only seeing Wilma for the mild mannered housewife she may have seemed (left)...but I saw her as the untamed vixen she really was (right). Can I get some kleenex please???

7.07.07
Lucky Lou was luckier
than anyone the world over.
Lou had ninety rabbits' feet,
his lawn was made of four-leafed clover.
Lou had lots of lucky bracelets
all adorned with lucky charms;
some he wore around his ankles,
others jingled on his arms.
Lou would keep his lucky hat on
even while he took a bath.
Black cats always walked behind him
so they wouldn't cross his path.
Never walked beneath a ladder.
Never wore a stitch of black.
Never broke a single mirror.
Never stepped upon a crack.
Lucky Lou was luckier
than anybody else, it's said.
Till the day that grand piano
fell and landed on his head.

"You may mosh with the bride..."

Metal Nuptials
So, we were asked to play a wedding. You heard right... This Saturday will be Metal Church, and all kidding aside we are looking forward to celebrating a life long commitment between some very good friends of the band. Early congrats to Melanie and Jaime!
Joel Storm Watch...
We are very happy to announce that Joel has accepted the position of lead singer for 3 Bear BombScare. Which would probably lead one to believe we will change the name to 4 Bear BombScare? Ah, the mystery of it all....
Names that will probably never happen but are fun to contemplate:
1. Drunken Suburban Pirates
2. Feets of Festivus
3. Beachfreak
4. Drawing Straws
5. Brutal Banquet (my fave)
6. Not With My Camel
7. WTF
8. Uncle Bob's Collection
9. Enemy of the State
10. She's Finally Legal
For a friend...

It's all going wrong
my whole life is crumbling around me
i cannot carry on
these problems weighing me down heavily
i have no one to talk to
no one who understands
no friends to turn to
i have lost them to times hand
so alone, so sad and cruel
i can't rely on anyone
not even you
times tragedy
weighing heavily on my shoulders
oh please someone
help me move these emotional boulders
I'm so lonely
so troubled, so hurt
does no one care for me?
am I nothing more than dirt?
I cannot carry on
with this weight on my mind
it's all going wrong
my pain, the un-healable kind
i long for something right
yet here i stand
hope said hold on tight
but hope is losing this hand

4th Bear?
So, after a completely screwed up two weeks...the 3 Bears enter the practice space to see what collective memory they have left. Takes about an hour, but we manage to kick major butt on three new tunes: Vitamin R, Evenflow and Crawling in the Dark. Raging and on a mission from the night before to get out as soon as possible, we will entertain (unfortunately only) 2 auditions Monday night to help get us there.
Fast Forward to Monday night...
Auditions good...choice made.
Welcome Joel Storm to the group! We hope anyway...

Wrong side of the stage...
The 3 Bears reunited last night and started off the evening at the Jazz Festival in Corporate Woods. Upon arrival we made a bee line toward the only beer vendor, (Budweiser pooey) and ordered the first of many Beach Bum Blondes... We actually did like the brew, and the running joke of course upon ordering was, "We'll take 3 more blondes please..." Doesn't really take too much to make people in OP grin especially when you attach sexual innuendo. So the vendors (men) each laughed, as well as the other customers. All in good (sexually degrading to women) fun.
Fast forward (back at the Plah-zaaa). We ended up at Odowd's. Pretty good band of older guys like us. They played similar music, and of course because we are musicians - we made friends quickly. Check them out at http://www.teacherzpet.net/
So, oh yeah the women and men thing. Here it is guys. You have a wonderful woman with you that obviously wants to dance, and you stand there like roosters stuck in cement. Yes, all well and good to work out 25 hours everyday and look intimidating to the other testosterone laden morons...but c'mon now. We specifically saw at least 10 women attached to rocks with testicles. Ladies, do yourselves all a favor and just go out with each other, and leave the fun, dancing and after hours parties to the professionals like us.

Final Night on the Island

We were lucky enough to spend some quality time with our great new friends Jon and Kathleen... We all shared a big plate of oysters and walked the moonlit beach. We are returning probably sooner than later to Fernandina Beach (hopefully by late Summer). But, for now the 2 Bears have hit the air and are back in KC ready to rock with Bear #3. More later...

Wow! A new hat for Scotty!

We have made a ton of new friends down here, each of them telling us how much they want us to move to "the island." One of our newest partners in crime is Jon DeWitt (banjo player extraordinaire). Jon has been playing the music circuit for as long as Aaron and I and most recently played with Uncle Kracker. Not sure if he is the most generous person or was the most intoxicated, but he did give me his hat. I had to promise to pass it on someday to a worthy individual that takes a liking to it.

2 Bears in JAX
First post to the blog: Who really needs music when you can soak up the sun and and taste the angry Atlantic 1000 miles from home. Speaking of which, the picture to the left represents a historical moment...Aaron's first few seconds (at least 1/5 immersed) in the ocean off of the right coast of our great country. A. being a "Cali Boy" had never felt the body of water that separates "us" from Europe between his toes. And so, subsequently we overly celebrate another check in his "list of life" at the beach bar and grill.
More to come...
